Student Life
As a WII student, you will quickly realize that life in Washington is much different from life on campus. From attending congressional hearings to preparing a presentation about online marketing to watching fireworks over the National Mall, WII students spend their time doing real and exciting projects and enjoying the attractions of one of the world’s most exciting capital cities.
Our students spend four full days per week at their internship site, allowing them access to substantive projects. WII screens every internship site to ensure that students will spend the majority of their time doing real projects, not filing papers. Take a look at a week in the life of a recent WII intern.
In the evenings and on the weekends, our students have the opportunity to take advantage of all the excitement that comes with a eclectic, international city. Enjoy free concerts, free museums, lectures and discussions featuring world leaders, film festivals, and great clubs and restaurants. During the warmer months, join thousands of Washingtonians on the National Mall for Screen on the Green or dance to the music at Jazz in the Garden at the National Gallery of Art’s Sculpture Garden. More about life in D.C.
But don’t take our word for it, find out what life is really like as a WII Intern by reading our student blogs.
