We invite you to apply for the Capital Experience, Embassy and Diplomatic Scholars, and Go Green! programs!

WII has a rolling admissions policy.  We encourage you to apply three to six months before the semester of your choice.  Many organizations have early deadlines, and we want to give you the best choices of possible internships!  Please see the suggested deadline below.  If you would like to apply after the suggested deadline, please contact us at info@wiidc.org for more information.  We will review your application as soon as it is complete.  Feel free to contact us at any time to check the status of your application.

Some government agencies require security clearance and thus have very early application deadlines. If you think you might be interested in one of these organizations (e.g. State Department, Department of Justice, White House), please apply at least nine months before the semester starts.

International students, i.e. students who attend a college or university outside the U.S. and thus require WII’s assistance to obtain a visa, should apply six months prior to the early deadline.  Please contact WII for the international student application materials and more information.

*Applying prior to the suggested  deadline will allow for the greatest range of placement options.

** Some organizations choose their interns in the early spring, so you should consider applying in December or January if possible. (Applying early is essential if you are interested in high-profile organizations, if you are a journalism student, or if you want to intern in certain government agencies.) Other organizations make decisions later in the spring. Please contact us if you have any questions about the timing of your application.
